On March 1, 1946 Mr. Roy W. Neal, Jr began Wes-Tex Aircraft at the Lubbock Municipal Airport. He ran a large fixed base operation which included charter, flying school, hangars and the first Piper aircraft dealership. He was a pioneer in the marketing and development of agriculturally related aircraft.
Over the years he began to see a gap in the aviation industry in the area of insurance. In June, 1962 Mr. Neal opened an insurance agency out of the Wes-Tex offices to help fill the need to provide insurance to the aviation community. It began as a partnership and in the 1970s was incorporated as the Roy W. Neal, Jr. Agency, Inc.
Mr. Neal’s daughter, Joann, joined the agency in 1980. She continued the legacy established by her father of operating honestly and conscientiously with all of our clients. Today that is how we still operate the agency. We are a family owned agency and treat our clients like family. Some of our clients have been with the agency for over 30 years and we are now insuring their children. Our clients really are like family!
On January 1, 2021 we merged with Heritage Risk Management Company. Merging with Heritage Risk Management allows us to write coverage for not only your aviation needs, but also your home, auto, business, farm & ranch and all other insurance risks you may have.
Our name won’t be changing. We continue to be and will always be Roy Neal. We are 3 agencies that are stronger together than apart operating as NCW in Amarillo, TX, Sanford and Tatum in Lubbock, TX and Roy Neal in Lubbock, TX all are divisions of Heritage Risk Management, LLC.
We look forward to continuing to work with you as we increase the insurance coverage we can offer while remembering our strong heritage and looking to the future of aviation insurance.
